The course is aimed at those working on the telecoms network or similar utilities including suppliers and contractors.
Course Aim:
Learners will gain an understanding of the hazards and potential risks of leaning ladders and flat roof access, whilst developing the required knowledge to implement safe working methods via the use of fall protection equipment, that will enable these systems to be used safely.

- Know relevant health & safety legislation and industry good practice when working on site
- Know the importance of the harness within the fall protection system.
- Know fall classification & effect.
- Know the requirements of a personal fall protection system.
- Know leaning ladder access methods.
- Be able to carry out safe working procedure for leaning ladders access methods.
- Know the criteria and inspection guidance for flat roof working.
- Be able to carry out a safe method of installing a single point fall protective system to a flat roof.
Assessment Method:
This SA051C training course combines theory and practical training methods to ensure delegates gain the knowledge required to prepare them for their assessment. Practical demonstrations and hands-on training is conducted throughout the course.
Certification:
Upon Successful completion of the course, candidates will be issued with a Smart Awards Certificate valid for 3 years.
