Corporate Social Responsibility
ITS is a company that believes in giving back to the communities in which it operates. As part of our corporate social responsibility efforts, we are committed to supporting community groups, projects, and charities that we are passionate about in Portadown, Northern Ireland and all surrounding areas. Our goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of those in our local communities and beyond.
One of the ways we support the community is through donations and funding for community projects. We believe in empowering local organizations and initiatives to make a difference in their communities. Whether it’s supporting a local food bank, a youth sports team, or an environmental initiative, ITS is dedicated to helping those in need.
In addition to financial support, ITS also encourages its employees to volunteer their time and expertise. Our employees are passionate about giving back and have a strong sense of community spirit. Whether it’s through organized volunteer days or individual initiatives, our employees are always eager to lend a hand to those in need. This type of community engagement not only benefits the community but also helps to build a stronger, more connected ITS family.
As a company, we understand that our Social Responsibility goes beyond the local community and we are also committed to working towards a 0% carbon footprint for a better future. We understand the impact that our operations can have on the environment and are committed to reducing our carbon emissions and promoting sustainability. We invest in renewable energy sources, implement eco-friendly practices in our daily operations, and educate our employees on the importance of sustainability.
Some of the corporate social responsibility we have recently supported include:
Our coffee morning took place on Friday 16th September and was the result of a challenge by Southern Area hospice to turn £50 into as much as we could to raise vital money for the hospice service.
This organisation is close to the hearts of many of our staff, with many families having had personal experience of their support services and no one knowing when they themselves will need to call on the hospice for assistance, we raised over £600!
The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is the only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families. Receiving no public funding and rely on the generosity of those within in the industry to help us continue our vital work. They have been delivering charitable support to the Construction Community since 1956.
DOWN SYNDROME IRELAND
Sales Manager, Ciara Judge, took part in an abseil down Croke Park on Saturday 7th May to raise money for Down Syndrome Ireland. Down Syndrome Ireland provide support and services to people with Down syndrome and their families. Examples include Mother and Baby groups, Occupational Therapy and Employment Opportunities. We would like to thank everyone who donated.
Four of our staff members, Morgan, Aishling, Stella, and Laura, participated in the Mash Direct Half Marathon in Belfast on Sunday 13th September, raising funds for AwareNI which is the depression charity for Northern Ireland. With mental health issues affecting a large percentage of people from Northern Ireland, we as a business thought that this was an amazing cause and were glad to support the ladies as they prepared for the event. We actively encourage our staff to take part in charity and volunteering events. All employees can avail of an extra day of annual leave to take part in events or assist with organisations that they believe make a difference.
Sales Executive, Denise Crealey and friends completed 54 laps of People's Park in Portadown to raise money for pancreatic cancer in memory of her friend Audrey who would have been 54 on 24th May. NIPANC is a Northern Ireland charity working to improve the outcomes of pancreatic cancer by increasing public understanding of this cancer, promoting awareness of the cancer's signs and symptoms by both medical professionals and members of the public, funding vital research and supporting patients and their families.
Last year, our amazing staff, associate trainers and their families provided 146kg worth of food to Craigavon Area Foodbank. We felt this was an important social responsibility for the company as we could see the effects locally of how people were being effected. 146kg amounted to 469 meals, alongside donations which came to £220 worth of meat vouchers. We are beyond pleased to be able to collect for such a worthy cause, especially to help those in need that are in such close proximity to us.
