Traffic Management

Apart from the basic requirement to provide adequate training in order to work on pubic highways specific sector scheme approvals are required.
The sector schemes required specific training and qualifications for operatives, supervisors and managers.

LANTRA Traffic Management – Sector Scheme 12D cover all types of Temporary Traffic Management on Rural and Urban Roads (ie all Single Carriageway Roads and Dual Carriageway Roads restricted for 40mph or less).

The concept of traffic management (which is also sometimes referred to as road traffic control) refers to the act of directing vehicles and pedestrians around some form of disruption that is occurring. Any event that may cause disruption to a vehicle or pedestrian, including a construction site, accident, community event, tree removal, road surfacing, traffic congestion, etc.
