Who should attend:

This accreditation is suitable for those wishing to develop knowledge and understanding in the safe use of moving and handling in a construction or utilities environment. It is suitable for learners who want to work in construction or the utilities or those who already work within the construction or utilities industries.

Course Aim:

The SA005 – Safe Moving & Handling Training course will teach you the safe way of moving and handling in a construction or utility environment.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Know the hazards and risk factors associated with moving and handling.
  • Know the hazards and risk factors associated with unsafe moving and handling.
  • Know the principles of safe moving and handling.
  • Have the ability to move and handle equipment safely.
  • Know relevant health and safety legislation and good industry practice in relation to moving and handling.

Assessment Method:

The course includes both practical and theory assessment.

  • Practical Assessment – where you will demonstrate your knowledge of practical tasks.
  • Theory test which is composed of multiple choice questions.

Certification:

This Smart Awards certificate is valid for 3 years, you will then need to complete a refresher course to renew your qualification.
