Who should attend?
This course is designed for people who work within an overhead telecommunications environment, to install cables above LV power crossings.
Course Aim:
This accreditation aims to give learners knowledge, understanding and basic skills to install cables over low voltage power crossings and the hazards and potential risks involved in working safely with ladders and wooden poles in a telecommunications environment.

- Be able to access a pole using a ladder
- Know relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice
- Know how to access a pole using a ladder
- Know how to carry out pole checking
- Know how to work safely on joint user poles
- Know relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice when installing and recovering telecommunications cables crossing above low voltage power lines
- Be able to carry out safe use of equipment and methods for installing telecommunication cables crossing above low voltage power lines
- Be able to work safely when installing or recovering telecommunications cables crossing above low voltage power lines
- Know the emergency and reporting procedures in case of emergency or failure
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the course candidates will receive a Smart Awards Certificate which is valid for 3 years.
