Are you looking for a unique way to ensure the utmost safety and wellbeing of your workforce? Look no further than our tailor-made solution: the Bespoke Shut Down Health and Safety Day! At Industry Training Services, we understand the critical importance of safeguarding your team whilst maintaining productivity. Our exclusive Health and Safety Day is meticulously designed to cater specifically to the clients unique requirements focusing on day to day challenges on site.

Recently, Industry Training Services welcomed AG Wilson Civil Engineering to our Portadown Headquarters for a stand down health and safety day focusing on the Health and Safety at Work Law, Safe Systems of Work and Safety in Excavations. It was an empowering event aimed at fostering a culture of safety and responsibility in every excavation operation.

The day covered a range of classroom-based learning through our bespoke health and safety presentation where candidates were refreshed with the latest safety regulations and compliance requirements relevant to excavation activities.

This was then followed by an afternoon of practical activities including a safety in excavations demonstration and inspection. Through hands-on workshops and demonstrations, attendees actively engaged with safety protocols, enhancing their preparedness for potential challenges in excavation sites

Here’s what Richard Chambers, A.G Wilson’s Director, had to say about the day.

“On behalf of AG Wilson, I wish to convey thanks to our trusted training providers Industry Training Services for their expertise in organising and delivering a safety stand down event. The trainers, Shannon & Paul were knowledgeable, engaging and created a positive learning environment for all our employees. The stand down event was well-structured and tailored to meet the specific needs of AG Wilson site activities. The delivery of key safety messages was informative and engaging, this combined with practical demonstrations focusing on excavation safety made the overall experience enjoyable and relevant to our teams daily challenges. Without a doubt, we highly recommend ITS and continue to entrust them with our H&S training requirements.”

We have offered these Health and Safety shut down days over a number of years to clients such as Kier Group, Morrows, KN Group (now Circet) and BSG Civils.

Our 12 acre site hosts a variety of practical training areas giving each company flexibility in their approach to their safety days with some preferring to make it a ‘fun’ safety day and others taking a more blended approach with the inclusion of team building events alongside classroom activities.

Presentations and practical elements are built around the client, tackling one, or a number of health and safety topics, depending on specific client needs.
