This qualification is for excavation and street works operatives to give them an understanding of how to avoid danger from underground services, and the importance of clearing an area prior to and during an excavation.
Course Aim:
The SA022 – Track and Locate Underground Services course provides learners with the knowledge and skills of planning, safely locating and avoiding underground services.
This includes training on physical identification methods of underground services (e.g. site visual surveys and interpreting any drawings) and also using cable avoidance tools and accessories to detect, trance and mark clearly where services have been found, preventing risk of harm to people on site and damage to the services.

This Smart Awards certificate is valid for 3 years, you will then need to complete the course again or attend a refresher course if available, to renew your qualification.
