Designed for individuals working in external overhead telecommunications infrastructure, this course provides crucial expertise for installation, maintenance, and management roles. It’s open to individuals aged 16 and above who meet the necessary standards.
Course Aim:
This course provides candidates with vital safety competencies and awareness regarding the hazards and potential risks associated with working in an operational telecommunication setting, specifically involving the use of ladders and climbing wooden poles.
Learning Outcomes:
Demonstrate the ability to work safely.
Demonstrate proficiency in accessing a pole using a ladder.
Understand relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
Acquire knowledge on accessing a pole using a ladder.
Learn how to conduct pole inspections.
Understand safe practices when working on joint user poles.
Assessment method:
Assessment will involve both theory and practical components. The theory part includes a multiple-choice assessment. Learners must also pass a practical assessment to earn the qualification. Once completed, you can add the qualification to your Smart Award’s NOPS Card. Upon successfully finishing the course, you’ll receive a Smart Awards Certificate valid for three years.
