Q019 (CD1)– Core Drilling

Who should attend:

The module target audience are engineers working on the Openreach network including Contract Partners.

Pre-Requisites: 

• SA006 Safe Working in Civils
• NRSWA Streetworks Qualifications – Unit LA, Unit O1, Unit O2, Unit O3

Course Aim:

This assessment will test the delegate’s knowledge of core drilling jointing chambers.
This module covers the core drilling of modular, brick and concrete (reinforced and unreinforced) jointing chambers for the installation of Duct 54, 56 and small ducts

Learning Outcomes:

Delegates will review legal requirements, ensure safety compliance, and understand procedures and appropriate documentation for the process’ in various structures.

The course content includes:

Theory training and assessment for core drilling

• Site surveys and documentation 
• Policies and legal requirements  
• Safe dig practice 
• Selecting the correct materials and equipment 
• Openreach core drilling specifications and standards 
• Theory test & practical assessment

Accreditation:

This module consists of two parts, a questionnaire and a practical session.

The Q019 Core Drilling (CD1) Certification is valid for three years from the date of completion.
