Who Should Attend:
This course is designed for Operatives or Supervisors involved in utility works on public roads and footpaths across the UK, specifically addressing traffic and pedestrian management. PPE, including Safety Boots, Hi Vis Clothing, and Gloves, is mandatory. Training and assessments can be conducted at clients’ premises if suitable facilities are available; we have prior experience in on-site sign lighting and guarding training.
Pre-Requisites:
Delegates must be ages 16 or over and medically fit in line with current industry requirements.
Course Aim:
This course fulfils the statutory training requirement for placing signs, cones, barriers, and other necessary elements on public roads and footpaths. It provides candidates with the essential qualifications required for proficient traffic and pedestrian management.
Learning Outcomes:
To successfully complete this course, candidates must be able to:
- Understand the requirements of the Safety at Street Works and Roadworks code of practice in relation to Traffic Management requirements in roadworks and utility works.
- Have achieved Unit accreditation for either Unit O1 (operative) or Unit S1 (Supervisor) of the street works scheme.
Assessment method:
- Practical assessment
- Knowledge questions followed
- Observation of operatives performing diverse tasks
Certification:
- Upon successful completion, participants will receive a CABWI Certificate. CABWI certificates for Street Works, Regulated, or Third-Party Endorsement schemes don’t expire. However, qualifications like Street Works may need renewal every 5 years.
- Upon successful completion they will also receive a SWQR Card which will need renewed every 5 years.
