This course is intended for members of an Emergency Response Team (ERT) who need to refresh their skills and knowledge in the use of breathing apparatus.
Pre-Requisites
Prior completion of initial breathing apparatus training.
Current or previous experience as a member of an Emergency Response Team.
A valid, unexpired certificate in breathing apparatus training.
Course Aim
The aim of this refresher course is to update and reinforce the skills and knowledge required for the safe and effective use of breathing apparatus by Emergency Response Team members, ensuring they are prepared for emergency situations.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
Properly don and use breathing apparatus in emergency situations.
Conduct pre-use checks and maintenance of breathing apparatus.
Navigate and operate in environments requiring breathing apparatus.
Respond effectively to emergencies involving hazardous atmospheres.
Demonstrate understanding of current safety protocols and procedures.
Assessment Method
Practical assessments of breathing apparatus use in simulated emergency scenarios.
Written or verbal tests to evaluate understanding of safety procedures and equipment handling.
Accreditation
Participants will receive a refresher certificate for Breathing Apparatus training, valid for a specified period as required by industry standards.
