Abrasive Wheels

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for individuals who use abrasive wheel equipment or delegate its use.  

Prerequisites: 

Good understanding of spoken and written English. Please contact us if you have any concerns in this area.

Course Aim:

Develop a safe system of work by training candidates to identify hazards and control measures with abrasive wheels.

Learning Outcomes:

• Be able to identify specific hazards and Precautions to be taken. 

• Be aware of employer and employee duties relating to application of safety controls. 

• Be able to identify defective equipment or systems. 

• Have sufficient knowledge and understanding to implement their duties relating to inspection and safe use of abrasive wheels equipment. 

• Characteristics of an Abrasive Wheel and the Types. 

• Marking of Abrasive Wheels. 

• Storage and Handling. 

• Personal Protective Equipment. 

Assessment method:

• Hands on demonstrations  

• Classroom based tutorials  

• Practical exercises 

Accreditation:

Successful candidates will be awarded an ITS certificate which is valid for 3 years.
