NRSWA FULL Streetworks for Supervisors & Operatives

Who Should Attend:

Tailored for supervisors and operatives in excavation and maintenance tasks, this training ensures compliance with regulations and imparts essential skills. Attendees must bring PPE, and some training may be conducted at clients’ premises based on unit requirements and available facilities. 

Pre-Requisites:  

Delegates must be ages 16 or over and medically fit in line with current industry requirements. 

Course Aim:

To provide essential knowledge, skills, and certifications for participants to conduct street works in accordance with NRSWA regulations. The focus is on ensuring competence and adherence to legal and safety standards. 

Learning Outcomes:  

• Understand the requirement of the specification for reinstatement of openings in roads  
• Understand the requirements of the HSE Guidance Document G47 in relation to location and avoidance of underground apparatus  
• Understand the requirements of the safety at Street works and Road Works Code of Practice in relation to traffic management requirements on Road Works  
• Have achieved unit Accreditations for various units of competence within the Street works scheme 

Assessment Method:

Training for each unit occurs in a classroom setting, followed by assessments. Operative candidates undergo practical task assessments, while supervisor candidates are evaluated with knowledge questions for each unit, followed by observing operatives performing various tasks.

Certification:  

• Upon successful completion, participants will receive a CABWI Certificate. CABWI certificates for Street Works, Regulated, or Third-Party Endorsement schemes don’t expire. However, qualifications like Street Works may need renewal every 5 years.  
• Upon successful completion they will also receive a SWQR Card which will need renewed every 5 years.
