Our Tower Crane Rescue course is aimed at any person responsible for planning a rescue from Tower Crane, or has been identified as a rescuer in the event of a fall from height, entrapment or medical issue on a Tower Crane and requires training to ensure competence within the construction industry.
Pre-Requisites:
Candidates must hold valid and adequate work at height awareness and safety harness wearer and inspection training.
Course Aim:
The aim of the Tower Crane Rescue Training course is for candidates to have an awareness of their and their employer’s roles and responsibilities within the workplace, this will include safe systems of work in relation to working at height on cranes.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the course candidates will have knowledge in the following areas:
Legislation/guidelines covering working at height, including working on various towers/structures
Understanding collective protection systems
Understanding the use of fall protection equipment to include the theory/practical elements relevant to wearing a harness and use of lanyards
Awareness of how to survey for suitable anchorage points, in accordance to relevant standards
There are three endorsements for the CPCS Tower Crane course which are:
A: Trolley Jib – Cab Controlled
B: Luffing Jib – Cab Controlled
C: Trolley Jib – Remote Controlled*
*The A04C category has superseded the Pedestrian Operated Tower Crane (A63A and B) course which was available previously.

Experienced Operators (Training covering Theory & Practical) – 2 Days
Experienced Operators Test Only (No Training) – 1 Day
Assessment Method:
The practical test for the Tower Crane must be completed within ninety minutes and will consist of the candidate using the machine to complete a variety of activities and manoeuvres including lifting and placing loads.
