Free Rapid Response Construction Training Courses

Rapid Response Construction training courses to help local residents secure employment within the construction Sector

On behalf of the ABC Labour Market Partnership, Industry Training Services (ITS) is delivering FREE Construction Training courses in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Council area.

Supported by the Department for Communities (DfC), the fully funded courses will enable local residents in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area to receive training to further their careers or improve their chances of employment within the construction sector. This opportunity is open to residents who are unemployed, underemployed (working less than 16 hours per week) or who are at risk redundancy.

What’s included?

Successful applicants will attend Industry Training Services Centre on the outskirts of Portadown, and will have the option of attending 1 day courses in:

  • NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) Sign, Lighting & Guarding training,
  • Confined Spaces
  • Location of Underground Services (Cat & Genny)
  • First Aid Training
  • CSR Health & Safety Training to obtain a FREE CSR card.

You will receive free PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and will be supported to put your new skills into action in a practical environment during a short work placement in a local construction sector business. Throughout the course you will also receive bespoke employability and CV writing support to help you apply for roles, prepare for interviews – increasing your chances of securing employment in this fast paced and exciting industry.   

This programme is one of a number of employability and skills interventions and employment pathways, which the local council and ABC Labour Market Partnership are investing in to equip local residents with the skills and employability supports required to compete for job opportunities and ‘better jobs’ within the Borough.
