Health & Safety Training Company ITS marks World Day for Safety & Health at Work

Industry Training Services (ITS), Ireland’s largest provider of health and safety training solutions to the construction, civil engineering, utilities and manufacturing sectors, is marking World Day for Safety & Health at Work this week on Friday April 28 at its two depots in Ireland: Cherry Orchard, Dublin; and Portadown, Co. Armagh.

Managing Director of ITS, Brendan Crealey, commented: “World Day for Safety & Health at Work helps to put an important focus on how Health & Safety training has become so central to the running of practically every business operation in our economy.  It is a key responsibility of employers to ensure that employees are safe in their work environment and that they have the tools and training needed to ensure optimum levels of safety at all times.”

Safety

Innovative technologies are continuously helping to improve the sector. In the last couple of years, lifesaving safety innovations such as the Tetra ladder safety systems have been introduced to Ireland.  Touted as a failsafe option for protecting anyone who has to use a ladder, either in their employment or for projects at home that require height access, the Tetra system relies on an easy to rig system of ropes that are attached to anchor points that effectively eliminate the risk of falling from a height.

“As falls from a height are the number one source of workplace accidents, the Tetra ladder safety system has the potential to save lives for employees in a myriad of sectors that are required to work at a height”.

“Thankfully, legislators North and South are fully supportive of continuous improvement in relation to workplace health and safety.  As a result, there is a strong legislative basis across Ireland supporting and promoting best practice in workplace health and safety.  Certification programmes, although with differing approaches North and South, are there to ensure individual employees and teams are trained to the highest standard”, concluded Crealey.

As the leading provider of health & safety training to local authorities, food manufacturers, telecoms, utility and construction companies on the island of Ireland, ITS is equipped to deliver first class safety training for essential safety certifications and for specialist conditions anywhere across the country.
