Who Should Attend IOSH Safety, Health & Environment for Construction Managers ?
Managing safely in the Construction Industry is intended for those in supervisory and managerial positions in any construction organisation.
Objective of IOSH Safety, Health & Environment for Construction Managers
By the end of the course candidates will understand the answers to the following questions:
- Apply basic management principles and practices to safety and health issues as part of a management strategy.
- Set achievable safety and health objectives and plan and implement the relevant course of action to achieve those objectives.
- Recognise safety and health hazards present in the workplace and the types of control measures needed.
- Take account of work activities or risks arising from human factors.
- Ensure that adequate information, training and supervision is provided for the operatives in their organisation and where necessary others.
- Investigate any accident involving injury or damage in order to establish the facts and take appropriate action to prevent recurrence.
- Communicate effectively on safety and health issues with superiors, with operatives and with safety and health professionals both internally and externally.
- Understand the main legal responsibilities the employers and managers together with the responsibilities of operatives.
IOSH Safety Health And Environment For Construction Site Managers
A proportion of hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises, supplemented with classroom based tutorials.
AssessmentÂ
Assessment will be carried out by Industry Training Services and moderated by IOSH.
Achievement of the objectives of the course will be assessed by;
- A written paper in the form of an objective multi-choice test/ short answers.
- The duration of the test will be for one hour.
- A practical assessment involving a workplace with an emphasis on the adequacy of management of safety and health.
Platinum CSR Card
You can obtain a CSR Platinum – Academically Qualified Person card on successful completion of the IOSH Safety Health And Environment For Construction Site Managers and have completion of a recognised third level construction related degree, or you can obtain a CSR Platinum – Professionally Qualified Person card on successful completion of the IOSH Safety Health and Environment For Construction Site Managers hold membership of one of the following professional qualifications:
